front lower control arms

hi

my brother has a 85 z28 that he is looking to rebuild. i was looking at it yesterday the drivers side tire is not center of the wheel well. and the other side is centered. what would cause the drivers side to be off like that? also is the control arm the same for all 3rd gens or different?

Re: front lower control arms

the arm is proabably bent from an impact, the arms are the same from 82-92 and are shared with many other GM cars and trucks.

Re: front lower control arms

It could be due to accident damage, both the frame could be bent or the fender could be displaced.

Check out the whole car for any wrinkling.

The G and T bodies use the same arm along with A bodies and a few others.

I would say you are wrong being as G and A bodies using uppers and lowers and we only have lowers that and their spindle are different

Yes but the lower control arms are the same part. Never said anything about any other part of the suspension, but the rotors and calipers are the same depending on the year and option package.

Besides the bit for limiting steering they're swappable.

No they are identical, the alignment will be the same and the steering stop is the same.

Re: front lower control arms

the top pic and the bottom pic are the same side, the middle pic is the other side. is that why you think it'll change caster? cause in those pics, the one ball joint is located differently?
