lowering rear of camaro

it seems to me that there is too much wheelwell clearence in the back wheel wells of a thirdgen. the front is nice and snug with the 245-50-16's, but the back has too much clearence. i met a guy with a 91 z28 vert, his car sat even from front to back, but he said the reason was his suspension in the back was collapsed or something, but i liked the look of it. if you look at a thirdgen it always seems the rear sits higher than the front, and i think it looks bad. how can you get it to sit even so that it doesn't look lower in the front?

would look like this, see how the rear sits low in the back, that looks way better...

that opposed to how it looks now:

see what i am talking about? the back sits way to high and it looks goofy.

You might consider removing the OE spring insulator and replacing it with radiator hose. The latter is good for a 1/2 or so.

Re: lowering rear of camaro

thnx. this one needs a good inch at least. i think he wants to keep the stock ride height look but the rear sits WAY to high. and it seems a lot of thirdgens are like that.

The OE ride height is 27 1/2, ground to center of the wheel well arch. How's the car compare?

JamesC
ride height on front... 26"
ride height for rear is 27.5"

the back tires are 255-50-16
and the fronts are 245-50-16 is that why it rides lower in the front?

Removing the isolators and trimming about 1/2 coil should get you there. Later.

Re: lowering rear of camaro

Buying new lowering or cutting your stock springs, are what is needed to lower the rear. Removing the isolator will help some, but not much to be of much notice & certainly not enough to be the final solution.
