Just to add a little more food for thought.............

Regular, factory style replacement strut mounts cost about $60-$80 each, depending on brand. So lets go with the cheapest, $60 each. That's $120 to replace your strut mounts with factory, rubbery, flexible mounts. BTW, it is recommended to replace strut mounts when you replace struts. Now, add about $165 to that, and you can have the bulletproof, custom, handmade, billet, killer Hunter strut mounts. Not much of a decision there, is it?

You guys are killing me. I wanted these mounts bad, and also help to get this thread started again. I waited a month before putting my car back together just hoping to get the chance to purchase these, and now that I purchased the Delco road handlers at 100 a piece with dealer discount you get something going. I was willing to pay up to 400 dollars on these things and still got no answer. Oh well I guess.

I thought this thread was about suspension pieces - not acronyms -

The list is starting to grow. I will keep all those on the list posted on porogress via e-mail and I will also try to post progress here.

Hey - sorry Dave - but I can't just whip up a set of these whenever I want. Believe me - I wish I could.

There are alot of things to consider - CNC machining, cutting, anodizing, assembly..... The list goes on. To make all this viable I need to make a bunch. Sorry it did'nt work out for you - but up until this point there really has not been enough interest for me to even bother investing any time to plan another production run.

If you are still interested - let me know. If not - I am sure the Delco ones you have will not give you any problems.

Anodizing?!?!? I may sound a bit greedy now, but can these be made in different colors, or do you just put a clear anodized coat on them for protection? I'd be willing to toss in a few more bucks for a custom color (Purple)

Allow me to suggest that we concentrate on trying to get these things built. Then if you want yours colorized, your local anodizer or powdercoater could handle that for you.

Umm..

Are the strut mounts alumuimn or steel?

I know you said billet but I have heard that used alot of ways. If it is steal it seems like it would be a pretty easy thing to make.

Well, I'd like to have a set, but I know there's no realistic way for you to get them done in time to do any good. I need a set by the end of May, and then later in the year I'm switching to coilovers which have their own special upper strut mount.

Oh well. I may see if I can get a set of the ground control ones.

They will all be anodized. The standard colour will be red. Alternate colours will be $20 extra - subject to availability of the requested colour.

I really just want to make it as easy as possible - but the anodizing is part of the package. The ones in the pictures are the prototypes - so they are not anodized.

The pictures of the prototype mounts seem to be dead, or at least they don't display. Could you repost the pics of the mount again? or you could send them via email.
Thanks.

have known people and read

anout people who have ordered parts and then when they don't show can't get a refund and about people breaking into palpay accounts and spending al the money in the account.

And I know for a fact paypal's custmer service sucks. They only answer about 10 out of every 500,000 complaints and problems. Most of the time they just leave an automatic response.

I AM IN

I am in for these, just a few questions, are your race cars lowered? do they come with or need the bearing in the upper mount? my driver's side mount was burned in the fire so i have to replace it anyway. The reason i was wondering if your race cars were lowered is because, i was thinking about lowering mine when i get it done, but i was more interested in if it helped how the car handled? I am definitely in but your response determines which one i get, Paypal would be great, i also have the american to canadian transfer problem to figured out also, I will e-mail you
thanks,
Justin

I'd also like to hear some more info on this topic. My car is currently lowered ~1.5" inches, and I was wondering if it'd be in my best interest to get the taller mounts to allow for more travel.

Aside from that question....At our current rate of people jumping in on this, when do you think production may start on these? How long will a production run of 15-20 take? Thanks!!

O.K. - for payment - it will be PayaPal - or send me a certified Cheque - or Money order. I will send all relavant info to those who are on the list when I am ready to take deposits. All payments in Canadian Dollars Please.

The magic number is 20 - thats how many we need to make this happen. If things keep going the way they are now - that could happen within a couple of weeks. Then once I receive deposits production can start - and a reasonable estimate for completion would probably be 3 to 4 weeks. Maybe a bit more.

Lowering your car is good for handling - but don't go too dar or the geometry goes south and the handling suffers - not to mention you run out of suspension travel. That is one thing that the strut mounts will help a bit with is if you need a bit more suspension travel in the front.

The Strut mounts come complete and assembled - ready to install in the car - and yes they come with the spherical bearing installed.

For most lowered cars I recommend the medium length version. They work very well for 99% of lowered car applications. The full length version is for hard core racecars - and there can be clearance issues with the fluid resovoir on the factory master cylinder.

Okay, I think I want in on this. I can't do paypal so I'll have to send a check or money order. I guess I'll have to go to the bank and figure out how to convert it to a canadian money order as well. Would it be possible to give us (or email me with) an exact figure with tax and shipping included on the medium version mount?

i would love to get a set of these, and have talked to hunter about it before, but i am unemployed right now and can't justify spending the money right now, but if this goes on for much longer i may be able to buy a set ;-)

Yes, we need more people on the list.

To anyone that can't pay with paypal: Where do you make a foreign money order? I've tried major backs like Hibernia and Bank One and they cannot do it. Last places I have to check are the airport and the federal post office.
