I know this thread is dusty but I'm looking at upgrading my front suspension and would like to know if you still have any left over from the run? Color is not really an issue for me.

Re: Check out this trick strut mount from Hunter Motorsports!

I really need some help locating a set of Snap-Rings for these old Strut-Mounts. Does anybody have an idea of how to trace this info down?

I purchased an unused set from a third gen member who lost the snaps. The only "Hyper Racing Components" company that seems to be out there only makes Sprint Car items and claim that there never was a 'Mike Farrow' working there.

I also do not find a current internet source for Hunter Motorsports and it seems Karl Hunter has not posted here for over 3 years.

Can Any of You HELP???? Nitro-Nicky

Re: Check out this trick strut mount from Hunter Motorsports!

It's just snap rings... drop by an industrial supplier and buy some snap rings of that size...
or mcmaster carr...

Re: Check out this trick strut mount from Hunter Motorsports!

The problem I have is not knowing the size Or how to figure out the size. Do you have the ability to 'mic' the correct ones that are in yours??? Thanks for the suggestion though. Nitro

Re: Check out this trick strut mount from Hunter Motorsports!

I don't have this part.
You should be able to take the piece in question into an industrial supply shop, and grab one clip, put it in - loose, take it out, try the next size up. Keep going until you find the one you want.
They'll hate you there, you're dinking around with their inventory just to buy $2 worth of parts, but you'll get what you need.

An outside mic (the old style one) and an inside mic to measure it with might work...

You would not want these aluminum ones anyways, I was one of the original purchasers- the design was great, the material was not.

Check Spohn Performance website for identical mounts in steel rather than aluminum. These are the best ones on the market with the best design both safety and performance wise from Spohn.

Re: Check out this trick strut mount from Hunter Motorsports!

Just for giggles...... and to revive a dead dead dead thread...

Still have my 1989 1LE R7U

Still drive it on the street.

Still race it Autoslalom and Time Attack.

Still have the ORIGINAL PROTOTYPE set of HMS Strut Mounts on it with the original bearings.

Granted, I may not put a ton of miles on it these days, but over 15+ years... well, you get the idea.

The old pictures from this thread don't show up anymore... but some of the current offerings resemble the original design I came up with in 2001.

Cheers
