is my unibody warped??? legit ways to find out?

thankyou for your response, here's what happened: I spun out and managed to avoid complete disaster, but I still swung the left rear wheel into a curb hard enough to snap the axle and mess up the axle housing beyond repair, bent the left controler arm and panhard rod.

here's what I did: new rear axle assy.,new LCA (left), new panhard rod, upgraded to IROC Z 16" rims with new tires 245/50s (wish I got 255/45s..oh well) front end alighnment(not 4 wheel).

this is what happens: when I'm at highway speeds 55mph up, I can turn right with little effort, turning left requires slightly more effort and isn't as smooth as a right turn, somtimes I can feel vibration in the wheel, but it's hard to tell if it's just my imagination,it's very subtle.

I still need to replace the front wheel bearings they became loose again after the crash, the tire guy said he couldn't get it perfect and it may drift to the right at high speeds,I haven't had to much of a problem with that.something about the left being 2.7 and the right being 2.6,the toe is the same on both sides.

bottom line, is my car junk?

thanks, JYD

Take it to a frame shop. They have the specs and the measuring eqpt, and can probably pull it back out straight for not too much $$$ without haveing to take it apart or do body work or anything. Then put SFCs on it, quick while it's square and level!

I checked with a local frame shop here in Norfolk,VA. I was quoted $200 just to put it up and check the frame, and the guy couldn't tell me how much it could cost to straiten it.
however,he advised me to check the wheelbase (center to center of the wheels front to rear) the mesurements should be the same on both sides ofcourse, and the measurement for the wheelbase is inside the doorjamb, labled WB: xxx" ,I did steer the front wheel backwards over the curb as the rear wheel hit,I saved the front end but the control arm could be bent or the croosmember could've shifted!? according to this guy I talked to,sorry I don't remember the name of the shop,I just called the first ad that read "unibody repairs" in the local yellow pages.

You need to make some friends with body shop guys who work at places like that. Then you bring a case of beer and drink it with them while they do it for free after hours. BTW, $200 sounds like a lot just to check if it's twisted. They better straighten it and give you a paper floor mat for that price.
