solid motor mounts????

why cant we use them? does anyone know?
they are offered for other cars but specifically not ours. and what exactly is the function of the torque arm? do i really need it? mythoughts were if you used solid mounts the torque arm wouldnt function (how ever its supposed to) but it you canned the torque arm you could use solid mounts. which i would like to run all solid mounts
anyone done it?

I think you have a few facts mixed up. Motor mounts have nothing to do with the torque arm.

I have solid motor mounts in my car and they are specific for third gens.

Moroso part numbers
Upper mount #62510
Lower mount #62610

The solid mounts just keep the engine from torquing over under hard accelleration. If the engine doesn't move then the energy that used to try to rotate the energy is transmitted down the driveline to where you can use it. The downside to solid mounts in a street car is that there is no isolation between the engine and the frame. This means vibrations will be felt in the car.

Since the torque arm deals with the rear suspension and not the engine, replacing the motor mounts will have no effect on the torque arm. You still need the torque arm unless you change the rear suspension to ladder bars or a 4-link.

If you already have ladder bars then the torque arm isn't required.

Engine mounts are the same for BBC and SBC.
