Re: can somebody measure from strut to strut top

I just took some quick measurement on my car ('88, TBI 305, with air cleaner in the way). I went slightly "up and over" the air cleaner, so these are not perfect, straight line, math data measurements. Perhaps a fraction long, which should help avoid buying a piece too short...think positive.

From the two forward (closest to the radiator/front of car) studs, 39.5" on the inboard (closest to the engine) stud, 50.75" to the outboard (closest to the fenders) stud.

Now go build something!

Re: can somebody measure from strut to strut top

The problem with measuring from any of the strut bolts or the struts themselves is that everyone's measurements will be slightly different since they are meant to be moved to adjust the camber. It would be better to measure from the inside top corner of each strut tower for consistency. Then just add an inch or two to each side to account for your mounting locations.

My engine is out right now, but my measurements won't be the same as yours either since I had to replace the driver's side strut tower due to the PO wrecking the car.
