Body shell or roller needed

I am restoring my 85 Bird that only needs the body shell for an automatic transmission. I live in SW Ohio near Dayton. I have some transportation for pick up. I HAVE hood, fenders, 2 hatch backs, front and rear suspension , engine, automatic transmission , rear end and wheels. I will consider anything .Thanks, Frank

Re: rolling chassis needed

A rolling chassis in a third gen is everything except the engine/transmission. There is no removable chassis. It's all part of the body.

What exactly are you looking for?

If you have just a body then you need all the suspension components and yes they are all interchangeable from 82-92

Re: rolling chassis needed

Yes I need the body without the fenders, hood, doors and hatchback. I understand it is unibody but did not know how to describe what I need. I have the steering , rear springs, engine tranny and rear end. Thanks for the years that are interchangeable.

You will probably be better off finding a complete car.

Re: rolling chassis needed

Ok, you need a new body, any year will work, I would stick with an 85-90 just because I think they are slightly better sorted out that 82-84.
You should specify ttops or not and auto or manual trannys.
You will also need to post your location , not like it's going ups.

Re: rolling chassis needed

I have two body's shells, one is a t top titled GTA 1989 and the other is a hard top titled GTA. they have been in my shop out of the weather with ZERO rust anywhere. the t top is NOT a roller, it is stripped to its nuthins. the hardtop does have the rear axle and front end under it, other than that there is not a thing left on this body. Now the real question.... where are you?? cuz that can be a deal breaker for allot of people. I am in Utah.

Re: rolling chassis needed

well the hard top would be the one we could roll around if needed. i have them on a local site here for 200 for that one and 150 for the t top one. the reason i have the t top one lower, not only cuz there is nothing on it drive train wise, but it has a funny dent on the back floor near the hump. So if i was recommending one i would go with the hard top. I would want to send a bunch of pics first tho just to make sure your good with what it all looks like. Let me know, Ken.... oh and they are both set up for auto, nothing left if the t top one at all, like its stripped to the firewall. The hard top i cant remember if pedals are in there. I would have to look and see for ya.
