If you have a light jet ski, then no suspension mods are necessary. I occasionally pull my '88 Kawi 550 stand-up, on a single ski trailer, with my GTA and I can't even tell it's back there.

I have an Eckhardt hitch that's bolted to the rear bumper brackets and also welded to the rear sub-frame. I wanted to do a hide-away style hitch but there's no room to do it on our cars.

I wouldn't go pulling dual Sea Do's or anything like that. As long as the load is light you shouldn't have any trouble.

When I bought my 89 GTA it had a nice bolt on hitch which bolts to the rear frame where the rear bumper mounts. I still have it and if you are interested I will sell it for 25.00 plus shipping. It is fairly heavy. I will check on shipping if you want it. Comes with bolts and backing plates. The guy I got the car from towed a bike with the car. It did have air bags which I took out.I do not think they did much. jbender3@nycap.rr.com

I also have a trailer hitch on my 90 RS convertible. I've pulled my small Hilo travel trailer which weighs around 2000 lbs (similar to a tent trailer) and 2 Yamaha Wave Venture 3-person sit-down style PWC's (dry weight 510 lbs ea.). Mine was made by Draw-Tite. It is called their Sportframe model #24001. I prefer it to the one Bret has because it is somewhat less visible when not in use. His has a small square receiver vs. a lower profile rectangle of the Draw-Tite. Either one will require no modification to install. However mine states it won't fit 91 & later Firebirds with the sport appearance package. As my springs & shocks aged I noticed it would bottom out the suspension more than before. If pulling 2 PWC's air shocks or air bags wouldn't be a bad idea. Just don't exceed the 2,000 lb trailer weight and 200 lb tongue weight. I haven't towed anything with the RS since I replaced the stock shocks & springs with Bilsteins & Eibach Pro-Kit. Good luck, Lon.
