I don't think the stock TBI can handle that much horse power. I don't know of anyone personally that has achieved above 320hp w/ a 2 bbl TBI, though I don't think to many have tried. In theory, either a Holley 670 or a 454 tbi will handle that much power, you're just gonna need some huge injectors, in the 85-90pph range.
As far as the TPS thing-If it's what I'm thinking it is, it tells the computer you're at full throttle when you're really only at half. I would think that that would be bad and make you run rich, i.e. too much fuel and not enough air.

Well if you don't want to get the holley 670 or the big block tbi then really the only other option you're left with is your stock 1 11/16" bore throttle body. I suppose theoretically you may be able to support that kind of power with it, just make sure you do all the Ultimate TBI Mods in the tech articles on this page and you will definitely want some bigger injectors.

I'm making a little over 300hp with the Turbo City throttle body.
It's a ported stock tb with bigger throttle plates installed.
http://www.turbocity.com/TBIPowerMain.htm
It bolts up to the Edelbrock Performer TBI Intake intake.

just pay the $429 that they want, then after you install the new Throttle Body, just send in the core and get your $200 back, assuming you have the $429 to spend up front.

OR,
buy a core Throttle body and have it bored for 2" butterflies. You can order beutterflies from Jegs, last ones I bought were like $10, and the machine shop got $50 for their work. Alot more work involved but alot cheaper.

About the tbi not making over 300hp,

Check my sig, I've got the holley 670 (ported) and 85 pph injectors (cranked up to 105 pph approx). I haven't hit a dyno yet, but I really do think I'm right around 400 hp at flywheel. With a corrected time of 13.6s in the 1/4 from a 4400lb truck , I must have OK power.
