TBI-Won't start

Just swapped a TBI-305 from a 91 Camaro RS into my 73 FJ40 Landcruiser. will run all day if i trickle gas from a can into the TBI but it will not start by itself...my buddy thinks it has something to do with the VATS module...if so, how do I get around this...don't have the original key to measure the resistance, a wiring schematic would sure help...what do you guys suggest? Thanks.

I am not sure what VATS disables, but if you don't have the original key you need to get a prom that has vats disabled.

Re: TBI-Won't start

what kind of ecm do you have ??? i have a 1974 fj40 tbi and i use the 16197427 ecm 1995 TBI and it runs a fastburn 385 engine about 400 hp if you have this problem there are some things that you need to know on the fj40 land cruiser, first would be the fuel tank, it has a vented style but if you install the fuel line's to the TBI wrong the fuel pump will not be able to get fuel from the tank and this will cause a vacume pressure build up in the tank that will over come the fuelf pump and can burn up your fuel pump

if you want you can e-mail me directly and ill help you with some technical information that i have on the fj40 1973 years because your fj40 and mine are the same, and i have figured out this problem allready i had the same problem, and it requires some knowing of where to put the return line and also the feed line

e-mail me at ertiself@yahoo.com ill help you...
