TBI computer controlling electronic tranny?

I searched but could not find anything about the subject. I think some trucks had a 4l80e in them with a TBI engine. I currently am running the 7747 computer. Where can I find info on controlling a 4l80e with a TBI computer? Has this been discussed before?

The only computer that will control an electronic trans is a pcm that GM started using in 94 or 95 I think.

they started using the pcms as early as 93. My 93 s-10 has a 4WD 4l60-e in it and ive always wondered the same thing (really, really hate cfi) because i wanted to run my 4.3 on a tbi and still use thne stock trans. I dont think its really possible though. The number of times the pcms fire the injectors is different tehn that of the tbi systems.

How complicated are the PCMs? I just converted from carb to TBI 454 on my truck. Or are the PCMs only for CFI?

pcm is short for power train contol module, and im sure they are much more complicated then the stone age 8 bit ecms we have. Pretty much all cars and trucks sold today have pcms that govern the engines and transmissions operation.
