Anyone using Tuner-Pro to tune with.

I need some info on an ecu file and bin file. I want to start tuning my stock RS before I drop my 350 in this summer.

Well first off I have to admit I am not very computer savy. I have Tuner-Pro RT and I have the 746anlu bin but I don't know how to get the ecm file loaded so I can look at it, let alone edit it. I do have the 746jonprevost_ecu but when I checked the properties it says it's a text document. I guess I really just need to know how to convert it into an ecu file.

Thanks Dewey for any info you might share.

sounds like you have everything. the 8746_prevost file is the correct one. windows will show it as a text file.

just rename it to something like 8746.ecu or whatever .ecu, when you do this, make sure you go into Tools > Folder Options, click on the View Tab at the top, and uncheck the box that says 'Hide Extensions for known file types.' it may then put a .txt at then end of your file, if it does replace that with .ecu

in tunerpro then select it as the ecu file, then select your bin, and you are off to the races.

Hope that helps.

:hail: :hail: :hail: You the man!!! No really, thanks Dewey. I had to do the(find file or folder thing) to find the correct 8746jpecu file. The one I was trying to convert was way to small a file. I was in windows explorer when I noticed that it was only a 1kb file and the 6E.v010ecu was a95kb file. I found the correct 8746 file and changed it just like you laid it out for me. And as you said I'm off to the races, I just need a couple hundered laps to get qualified. .

it will come quickly just start small, and then get bigger. note everything you do, and how it changes things. i would suggest starting with basics, speed limiter, and stuff like that, then slowly start working towards VE tables, then spark.

Thanks again Dewey. My next hurdle is figuring out the pp2. I have this and some eproms and an eraser. The eraser is no problem but I sure I will have some difficulty figuring out how to load the bin onto the eprom, or eeprom which I will probably get after I successfully burn my first chip.

which chips do you have?

to burn them all you do is click on 'load buffer' and select the new .bin file. then click 'program device' at the top.

if you have to earase the chip electronicly, or not will depend on what chip you have.
