Edelbrock TBI intake

I just upgraded to a full exhaust, along with ultimate TBI mods and a new fuel pump. I can get a Edelbrock performer TBI manifold very cheap right now, would I see any kind of gains if i went to the trouble of putting it on? An LT1 cam is in the future once I get chip burning sorted out, but would it do anything for me with my car as it is now?

You should do it. When I put one on I already had exhaust, ignition, and open element. I noticed an improvement in the upper RPMs. Granted, it is not a HUGE improvement, but its an excellent intake that is a true direct bolt on. It will surely help in the future for a cam and head swap.

I am making plenty of HP with the stock manifold. I had sealing issues with the particular edelbrock intake I choose and sent it back. Could have just been that intake as others I have used in the pas sealed just fine.

Horrible deal... don't buy it.

Just let me know where you can get it for $35 first. Then give me a day or two.

With you're stock heads? Not much.

Sure, it would give you a major headache. Once you get chip burning sorted out though, and better heads of course, don't even bother yourself with an LT1 cam. Go with something better.

Duration = :lala:

I would buy if if you can get it that cheap. This intake has the same basic design as the performer carb intake. It can be bored to accept a 2" TBI unit as well. It is also a direct bolt on and nothing needs to be relocated, spliced or shared on the intake. This is a *** intake for a first time swapper.

There is nothing wrong with an LT1 cam. Often times "better" doesn't mean squat if you can tune it or have the heads to accomodate it. An LT1 cam swap is agreat mod seeing how you can get one for less than $40. I got one for $5.

Since Edlebrock sends you a new chip with proof of purchase, I am thinking about buying one of these intakes, and a an underdrive pulley kit to free upa few horsepower. The intake would be about $350CAD (with chip) and I figure the pulley kit would be around $150CAD. On a stock L03 with 14x3" K&N element, what kind of power gain might I see? My guess would be about 30hp from the intake and another 10hp or so from the pulley...

Too much?

If anything on a stock motor its going to be like 5 to 10 intake and underdrive pulleys combined. Thats what it seems from other responses.

Actually, you don't get a chip unless you get buy their whole "5.7L Power Package", which is intake, heads, and cam, and it's for the truck 350 TBIs, anyway.

You will only see a tiny bit of power gains. The only way you would see 30+hp is with a cam swap and extensive chip work. You are at the point now where it would be wise to get into chip burning. Off the shelf chips won't cut it and you can get more out of the mods you have with it.
