non EFI olds 455 --> 454 tbi conversion LOOK @ PLZ

Ok, so Ive started doing the research and I have a few basic questions that searching the forums and google havent answered. My goal is to retrofit the rochester tbi system to the older motor and have it retain the ability for the computer to control both air and fuel, as well as spark timing.

1. I know I need to modify the olds gm hei distributor to utilize the internal ignition control assy. of the chev tbi distributor. Is this a simple procedure?

2. Which sensors from the EFI motor will I need to adapt to the older engine to maintain full ECU function?

3. What type of fuel system upgrades will be needed to run the new system?

The motor is cammed for torque and midrange, and has about 9:1 compression, so the stock truck calibration may get us up and running, but the goal is to gain the ability to tune the car according to conditions, on the fly.

A.) 307 Y Computer Carbed HEI distributer (the wrecking yards are full of them)
B.) 454 Truck TBI with adapter plate for Q-Jet manifold.

Fuel
You will need an EFI style pump capable of 12 psi and around 190 lph. The Ford frame mounted pump comes to mind.

Sensors

1.)VSS
2.)IAC
3.)TPS
4.)MAP
5.)Knock sensor
6.)ESC
7.)Electronic distributer
8.)Park/Neutral switch (I got one from the zone for a later model of the same car (GM is pretty generic)
9)A/C on input

ok great thats about what I expected to hear, glad I have a list now. I'll get to work learning about these sensors and their operation and installation, but wait, whats this about a 307 distributor? it works with tbi? will it just bolt in and work? I thought I had to modify the hell out of another distributor.... or is that the piece I have to get do the hacking...

IIRC, the all later model oldsmobile V8s share distributers. The 307 should drop right in, you will need to change the small cap style connector for the old large cap of the 80s computer carb olds, but the actual distributer will run the TBI ECM.
