MSD Blaster coil review and installtion

I would like to install a MSD blaster GM coil on my L03. Have any of you tbi on here installed this coil on their L03, if so did you see any performance gains over the stock coil and my next question is it just a bolt on part?

In order to run this coil you will have to remove your stock coil and grind out the two rivets that hold in onto the mounting bracket. You can then use the supplied screws to attach the MSD coil to the stock brackets. You should see a smoother idle and maybe a mpg or two increase. The stock ignitions on these cars are pretty good so upgrades like this are more for the sake of maintenance.

I had that one in my car when it started messing up. I tossed the POS and put in Crane fireball HI6s ignition in. Now it runs much better.
I would recomend you replace your coil with the same coil. That way you won't experience any of the problems I did. However, i've seen a lot of people run the without a problem so its really up to you..

Laters.

stuff like ignition upgrades you really wont see a difference with just one component, i put on my blaster 2 and a half years ago and have had no problems, ignition is a good place to start since its cheap and easy to do, if that coil takes more than 15 minutes to install......your doing something wrong, i run the blaster coil, helicore wires, accel module and cap and rotor and that was teh firsts i did to the car, you really feel the difference going down the road, they seem to pick up from a roll a little better....I figure stuff like that this way

NAPA coil 40 bucks-----MSD coil 45 bucks
NAPA "performance wires " 35 bucks----MSD helicores 45 bucks

Give or take i'm not pulling reciepts but for the extra cash you get a better quality just my .02

Got it in. Took me about 30minutes total. The car defiantly runs smoother now and I can't wait to take it out on the street and see how it performs.
