prob a common legit question...(what HP/TQ can i expect)

Hey guys, i got a question for ya, on a stock L03 with a properly installed LT1 cam (valves, timing chain, etc...), Ultimate TBI mods (open element), Full exhaust, and all the rest of the common bolt on's what kind of power would this thing make? im very interested, and its hard to find a straight answer to such a simple question....would 250hp be a crazy number to say? thanks

Thats probably about right. You'll probably pick up about 20hp just from the cam swap, with another 30hp left in tuning over a stock tune. The other free or nearly free mods along with the full exhaust should get you up to about 250 or 260 hp. Some guys have had some drivability problems with the LT1 cam, best to get the tuning equipment now and learn the ropes before you swap in the cam this will garantee you to have a smooth running engine that makes the most of the cam.

You can not make Horsepower by addition. By that I mean, you just can not add up all the suggested Hp for each Mod and say thats what I have now.

Any numbers people tell you will be a guess, spend the money and have it Dyno'd.

No, but you can look at what others on the board have made with almost those exact modifications and get a pretty darn good idea of what you'll make. Take a look at Dewey316's combo, both with the stock SP heads, and ported 416's, he ran mid 14's with a cam slightly bigger than the LT1 and dyno'ed somewhere around 230HP to the wheels. Which is about 265 FWHP with a conservative 15% driveline loss.

Yes, you could do a seach. But he did not and wanted a guess and thats all you are doing. Nothing is the same.

JP, I have done my research and I have seen several dyno test by Dewey and Fast355 that prove what I said. I'm usually the first one to throw the BS flag when someone starts "adding hp", this proposed combo he is suggesting will most certainly make 250-260 hp at the flywheel. Do you have the tech that says it won't?

Edit: I just re-read your post JP, You quoted where I stated actuall dyno results and proceded to tell me I was talking out of my arse? Don't quite see where you're coming from.
