400 small block bored and stroked to a 427
Lunati forged internals
Comp Cams camshaft (a big one, very big )
Duel Holley 670 TBI's on an Offey Duel Quad
SLP 1 3/4" headers
GM Fast Burn heads
T-56 six speed tranny
12-bolt rearend (possiably 9-bolt) w/3.73's
Aluminum driveshaft
What do you think? Does it sound like a good combination?
The duel quad intake does work, but I only got to test it on the 327 with the Rochester TBIs.
BTW, 600HP for that 427.

not to rain on your parade but I would look into the Ram Jet intake for the fast burns(since thats the only EFI intake that will match the ports stock). How are you gonna make a reliable 427? are you gonna use the Bow tie block? (its on sale for $1500)

arent you going to face a huge cooling problem with that motor. All in all, sounds like you've got it all figured out.
Lunati is one of the best, if not thee. Comp cams has a good reputation.
SLP is a good choice for headers.
Fastburns are a race proven heads.
T-56 should handle all that.
9 bolt has more credibility if you ask me, but if you want stick with gm....
Why not go with 4.11 since it will still cruise at low rpm with the six speed, and with a motor that huge, might as well go all out.
Aluminum = better than steel.
As for the tbi's. Classic, its the next generation of hot rod motors, new technology, with the old look.
Maybe easier to tune for you since you say you are a good chip guy and are going to go pro and sell em.
Less mechanical work to tune, than with dual carbs, but you said in your other post that you could easily do that too.
unlike the vortecs, the fast burns have both regular intake bolt holes and the vortec style. But only the Vortec style will have been matched to the raised ports exactly
The first Fast Burn heads were Vortec bolt pattern only, but the newer one's (like I have) have both types, standard and Vortec.
As for the raised porting, I'm already looking for a duel quad manifold that will match the heads perfectly, by the time I'm ready to bolt the intake on they'll have it.
The cooling problem is my biggest worry. I've already came up with a few ideas, and I've talked to alot of tech's about this. So far, the best idea I've seen yet is a 3-core radiator, the best flowing waterpump on the market, the haeds will have steam holes (already have them now), and twin oil coolers. It's going to be cooled by twin electric cooling fans and a nice low temperature thermostat. I'm also thinking about an idea I seen in a Car Craft magazine, where a guy had two radiators, one in the stock location, and one under the trunk cooled by an electric cooling fan.
I think the 427 will be reliable, especially with forged Lunati internals. I've put alot of planning into this, and I think everything will work out well.
BTW, the reason I want to stick with the 3.73's is because this engine will make more torque then RPM's, so if I used 4.11's I would have really bad traction problems (already have plans for rear suspensiom upgrades) and my top end would suck. I think the 3.73's will do nicely.
I'm going with all steel stuff because it's more cost effective, and not everything aluminum is better then steel, especially rods. I'll keep you all updated.

Have you checked prices on those radiators?? They are over 800 dollars arent they??
My old roomate put one into his 69 Bronco.
So you would run hoses to the trunk to another radiator with electric fans on it. Wouldnt the inside of the car get hot?
Im assuming you mean outside, i guess.
Or You could do some cutting of the storage well, put a radiator in there and have some huge vents cut out in the bottom of where you spare tire is twards and opposite. You could get some major fans sucking air out, and blowing across the radiator.
That would be kinda cool, and fun to mess with. I have a picture in my head now, of remolding the rear glass with a big scoop in it, going to a radiator blowing thru and exiting down into the bottom of the storage well. But thats me, overkill. Ideas bigger than the wallet.
