open element
im going to be doing the open element mod to my 305tbi. what size filter are you guys running. a local auto parts store has a edelbrock proflow series open element (with lid and base) for $16.99. its a drop base setup that is 14" x 3". this what i should get? will it fit under the stock hood?

I don't like the drop base because you have to keep the restrictive gold ring around the top of the TBI unit.. I got a flat base, remove the gold ring on top of the TBI and put the new one on top. This will open up the area to allow for more airflow. Also less chance of the air cleaner touching the coil wires which has been known to happen with drop base aircleaners.
This is the one I got:

part #555-50022
I did have to make a longer stud, but thats pretty easy. Fits under my stock 91 RS hood.
