another thread about open element

i did a search on this but the answers were not what i was looking for.

i have done plenty of reading on the open element swap itself, and am confident with it, but my question is: what kind of breather element should/can i use in place of the stock breather? can i use a push-in style breather like this:
http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku

or will i need something different? any help would be appreciated as i am confused on this area of the swap.

oh, one more question. i will be using a flat-base 14" x 3" element on a 91 firebird, will i have hood clearance issues?

Re: another thread about open element

that push in breather looks just like the one im using except i bought mine at pepboys locally instead of ordering so yes you can use that. and for the hood clearance im not too sure but i do have a drop base 14x3 and it does not touch the hood of my firebird at all.

i thought i could. i was just a little unsure about whether or not i could use a push in style breather without the PCV valve.

did u use a push in breather on both valve covers or just the passenger side?
