Thanks, Chris. I hope to get my hands on a different TB soon to see what kind of difference it makes. I'll post results in my "Slow return to idle thread" if your interested.

If you go used, check the play in the shaft. Open the throttle valves a little and try to wiggle the shaft in different directions. The tighter the better haha.

Good tip...that statement can apply to so many things in life.

Like you I am hesitant to drop a wad of cash on a a TB re-furb if that ain't my problem. If a cheap JY unit makes a positive difference then I would have more confidence.
