i changed my plugs this weekend and now i've got a popping noise when i rev the motor or get on it hard when driving. timeing and firing order are correct. Anyone have any ideas? '89 camaro 350 tbi, 5spd.
Assuming no ignition issues and the timing is correct, it sounds like a lean issue. when the motor goes lean, itll pop out the intake. Does it still have the stock pump? Any mods?
Easiest thing may be to check the fuel pressure and make sure it still delivers around 12 PSI. If its unsteady or the pressure drops when the motor is under load, then its time for a new pump.
changed my plugs out again. all of them were clean except #7 which was black. bad cam lobe or bent push rod maybe? about to chk. my fuel pressure, just need to figure out how to hook up the gauge.
