TBI managed by megasquirt

I really don't like the idea of just having one chip for my tbi. Eventually i will get a bigger motor and will want to switch performance like the newer cars without pulling chips (electronics are too sensitive) some days gas mileage others killing stangs. Is it possible to use the megasquirt ecu on my tbi? do i need to get megasquirt II or will the original work? I just want choices and flexibility. I like the idea of using a laptop to instantly make changes without touching sensitive electronics. thanks! (Im somewhat a newbie)

I wouldn't recomeend Megasquirt. Either use the Flash EBL or the later model TBI PCM.

Ryan'

Welcome to TGO

Look into EBL conversion of a stock GM ECM. It will do everything that you have ask for without re-doing wiring harness.

There are other benefits as well such as having a bone stock ECM for Emission - safety Nazi inspections, while having EBL equipped ECM for experimentation and optimum performance tuning. For me it was the ease of tuning for Carb to TBI conversion. Find a similar used ECM, while retaining original untouched.

Re: TBI managed by megasquirt

thanks for the welcome! ya splicing all the wires would suck. I'll have to search the Flash EBL in the boards. I'm not familiar with that yet. TBI after market is scarce and when i look for it i just get the same crap i don't want. I just changed over from the G body about three months ago and i have lots of questions. Anyway thanks for the help!!!
