Its a TBI 350 with about 200 HP @ 4,400 rpm and 310 ft/lbs @ 2,800.

Swap the engine, the computer, using the 350 ESC module and Knock sensor. Use the 350 TBI injectors too as the van likely has the front-pull TBI on it.

All the accessories will swap right over.

What about the oil pan?Can i swap them too? Is there a way to get about 250hp out of this engine without custom prom burning? Will the computer give me any problems since im running a manual trans?

Thanks again

Would this engine be worth putting in to replace the 305? I can pick it up for around 400 with computer. Does anyone know if this engine has a roller cam in it? What would this engine be known as, lo5?

Thanks and merry christmas

I believe only the L05 in the cars were rollers but I'm not quite certain. I think the non roller L05 blocks have the provisions but didn't get the hardware. You'll need a cam, maybe some work on your cylinder heads depending on the cam you use, hedders and cat-back exhaust. You'll also need custom prom work but 250 should be easy to attain.

Re: What engine came in a 90 chev van?

Thanks gene.I don't have a trustworthy machine shop anywhere close to me.It also looks like no matter which route i go im going to need a prom burnt. I just don't want to buy all the equipment to do it once.Let alone screw anything up. I guess i could put the engine in as is but would it be worth the trouble for 30 more hp?

You could use a cam from an LT1 engine. I believe the stock heads and springs will accept the lift of that cam. In order to run that cam you would need the spider tray, roller lifters, roller lifter retainers but you'll need to make sure the block is a roller block though it may not have a roller cam.
