Upgrading fuel finally and I have been planning on using the 30# unit mentioned in the Budget TBI sticky. Went to gmpartsdirect.com but no dice, they list it as discontinued.
Does anyone know where to pick one of these up still?

GM did discontinue it. I assume you mean the vacuum referenced regulator? Really after having an external regulator I can honestly say its the only way to go and its cheaper. I plumbed mine with fuel injection hose which is debatable but the stock lines have short sections of rubber fuel injection hose that have made it 13 years and 186k miles so I don't see what a little more is going to hurt. Just route it out of the way of heat and sharp objects. The external ones can also be vacuum referenced too.

He is a actually talking about the 1994-1995 fullsize van/ 1 ton truck 350/454 30 PSI regulator, not the Marine regulator (18-22 psi).
I too have been looking for this part... Search Rock Auto for a 94 big block truck and under the fuel listing it shows an ac delco part that is listed as a replacement for that regulator. It appears to be the whole top of the pod and is 70 some dollars.
I think I am gonna go with the xtreme-fi regulator sold on ebay for 50 bucks unless anyone has any horror stories with it.
I might have one. It came off a 1995-1996 7.4L TBI. It is new. I pulled it off and ran the Aeromotive unit. I believe I have the complete reg with diaphragm and spring. I think (not sure) the 1995-1996 runs at 28-30 lbs FP with that spring. It is not vac referenced. Interested? OBTW you can buy a spring from top down solutions that is stronger than the stock F body spring yet weaker than above,.
Sorry, work sent me far far away for a while. I got my new gas tank, walbro 190, new sending unit, still out of luck with that GM regulator.
Called rock auto, who called up AC Delco while I was on the phone. The regulator is discontinued from Ac Delco as well. I didnt notice till after I called but Rock Auto has 2 more possibilities listed on the site:
AIRTEX Part # 3G1097 (Gasket kit?)
STANDARD MOTOR PRODUCTS Part # PR113 (Another full unit?)

Hey all,
Parts are installed finally. I went with the STANDARD MOTOR PRODUCTS Part # PR113 which is a regulator and housing unit. Just got everything on the car and started it up. So far so good. Couple quick questions though:
1/ how tight does one make hose clamps? I bought Fuel Clamps from Advanced Auto, solid steel band with nut and bolt above it. How does one know how tight is enough? I have them like 50% of their range now and its no tighter than when I first started tightening. (I have bad over-torquing habit)
2/ Injectors on the first start were dribbling. When I started the car again after seeing if it was a leak they were dribbling a little less, I revved it once and they started a spray pattern and looked more like spray than dribble for idle afterwards. Is this normal?
I need to update the ebl for the new pressure and all that, hopefully will have car on wheels again by Friday.

Thats a good find - PR113
Regarding hose clamp torque setting - it is dependent on a clamp design. Ideal offers 52F Series / Tridon 905 Series for FI duty. But their catalog is silent with respect to torque setting. Breeze clamps does not provide any information. Parker was also mum.
It possible that you had some air trapped in your fuel system. Once it is purged you should see fuel stream almost immediately.
Alright I'm pretty sure that the PR113 is not a 30psi regulator.
If I did things correctly I should have gone from a BPC of ~158 (55# @13psi) to a BPC of ~104 (55# @30psi). I tried setting the BPC vs VAC table to 104 and the car maxed out nearly every value in the VE low rpm table, and ran like crap. Went back to 158 and the VE changed a tad in a dozen columns or so but that was it.
The VE values should have dropped when I went to 104 correct?
I am going to go mod the regulator I took off. IIRC the max it will go is 20psi right?
