Re: HELP! Cam Rec's for 350TBI for S10 project

With 58cc heads, flat top pistons, and proper piston-to-head clearance around 0.040", you're closer to 11:1. I wouldn't try that.
in an S-10, you don't need a lot of off-idle torque. You also need to reduce your front end weight.
Please consider a pair of new, aluminum Patriot heads for $800/pr assembled, from www.competitionproducts.com
These heads will give youa solid 50-plus horses over 305 heads, will get your compression to where you can run pump gas, will save you 50 pounds off the nose of this nose-heavy project, and will give you an extra 1000 useable rpm for any given cam, over the 305 heads.
Then, unless you're custom ordering those comp cams, they come with a 110 lobe sep and a 106 intake centerline. They offer them with 112 LSA under different part numbers than the 110 grinds.
For TBI, even with a custom PROM chip, I'd say 224/230-114 with the Patriot heads. After cam run-in, then switch to 1.6:1 roller rockers.
