A couple months ago I got my first Camaro, its a 91 with a 305 TBI. Mostly everything on the car is stock except the rims. But I want to put a chrome edelbrock air cleaner over the TBI. I know I can take the (THERMAC) thing off, but I dont know what to do with the PVC valve crankcase intake? Ive seen other people do it with their 305 TBI, can some one tell me what to do?
Yeah thanks for the reply, I also want to do the same what did you do with the PVC crankcase air intake, and did you have to buy a special air cleaner or can I just get a regular one from autozone?

I bought a standard base plate from summit racing, K&N 14x3" Filter and Extreme Airflow Lid. I drilled a hole in the bottom of my base so I could put the sensor in it-a lot of guys just clip it to somewhere cool and safe in the engine bay and save the trouble. I'm a little sketchy as to what your asking about the pvc valve. Mine was just a tube running from the valve cover to the factory airbox, which I removed and put a breather in the valve cover to plug the hole.

BTW, congrats on the new Camaro!!!
Thats what Im talking about that tube for the pvc valve, can I get a breather at autozone, and what sensor, (I'm still kina new with the car stuff)

Yeah, all I did was throw the tube away. I think Autozone and Advanced Auto Parts sell Mr Gasket Breathers for a reasonable price so you should be good to go. You don't need to buy the sensor it's already there. It's the one that plugs into the bottom of your factory airbox. As I said before, you can either drill a hole in your new base plate and relocate it, or tie it off some place in your engine bay. I have some really good pics of my set-up on my car domain page you can check them out (URL in my V-|Garage). If you have any probs during the install just let me know. It's a really easy mod you shouldn't have any trouble. I noticed a nice improvement in throttle response in mine after the install. Overall, great mod. |Let us know how it goes!

Thanks alot man, Ill let you kno how it goes and ill post pics after Im done
hey guys quick question i just bought my TA and it just has a hole on the crankcase i bought a mr.gasket breather and 10min later it was smoking under the hood and almost caught fire any ideas
It was venting, probably shooting out oil on to the manifold, too.. Better off sticking to the PCV and running it into your air breather.. It's good for the ice caps.

ok what do you mean ice caps and there is no pcv valve by the cranckcase hole or atleast no pipes i can see
if your standing infront of the camaro and on the left where the a/c is i have that bent tube that went to the air cleaner, i'm wanting to swap out with another breather but i dont know what to get at advance.. any suggestions?
The 305 TBI LO3 PCV has a tube running from the front of the driver side valve cover to the front center of the TBI unit. No need to cut or drill anything, replace the PCV with a new stock one, replace the tubing and go on your way. Oh yeah, plug the thermac hole that goes into the TBI Unit, you no longer need this as it just opens and closes the stock intake butterfly.
-Take care
P.S. Best is to use 1 pcv and 1 breather to keep crankcase ventilation proper

I believe other end of PCV in my photo is to charcoal canister purge vacuum.
You actually look like you have a 2 way PCV valve, allowing some to the canister and some to the TBI Unit...I wonder what that does for the crankcase ventilation.
I believe both the PCV and the CC both see only VAC. When the CC solenid opens it allows the canister to purge. Currently the CC is disconnected as I am doing VE Learns. It is vented to atmosphere.
