Budget Help

No numbers for pricing on budget but lets just say a bit moderate or as cheap as possible. I'm looking to go a bit mild with my block. I run a 305 tbi currently and just looking to go a bit more thats all. If anyone could supply me a list with some parts for a build, nothing major like pushing 400+ hp and tq but a bit more than stock thats all.

regards,
Timinsk

Re: Budget Help

you should set a goal (whp or hp), you're just saying you want less than 400hp, but 390 is also less
also be aware that most mods will require you to re-tune your ecm which can cost a lot of time for first timers (including me) and further equipment such as a wideband o2 sensor + controller and gauge, or upgraded ecm (EBL).

for starters, be sure to uncork that bloody wimp of a stock exhaust GM put on these cars. get headers like the hooker 2055 (includes y-pipe), 3" highflow cat and exhaust. you will also need to upgrade your fuel pump for later mods. if you're keeping your stock heads (depends on your goal), exhaust will imho be the most costly section in your build.

Re: Budget Help

exhaust, and air cleaner already done mostly, just seeing what I could do for just mild upgrades from my stock engine. Lets just say then i was more than stock specs for hp/tq to about 250-300 hp/300-400tq if possible, i dont know if any small parts would give such a critical change, i was looking into maybe just heads and camshaft thats all, nothing drastic for lift just something to keep my current gas mileage or a bit better w/ better performance thats all, im 18 yr old with a pt job lol lets think of the budget that way :P
