Car: 1990 Pontiac Firebird Formula Engine: 305 Transmission: 700 R4 Axle/Gears: peg leg | Budget 305 buildup The urge to swap engines is there, it's just not feasible. The motor only has between 60,000-70,000. I'm not positive because the odometer broke at 57,000. That and I'd just like to give the car a boost as it's going to be my dd. Here's what I've got so far:
-Detroit trutrac
-3-.42 or 3.73 gears, not decided yet
-Either a set of GM performance parts vortec heads or Jegs SBC heads
-GMPP Vortec TBI manifold or the edelbrock performer TBI manifold
-Holley TBI
-Cam, I haven't made my choice yet. The vortec heads have a max lift of .475. I'd like to find something a little choppier for a nice meaner sound.
-MSD6A ignition with a blaster coil and an MSD distributor. Plug wires, plugs, etc..
-Some kind of shift kit. also a manual valve body.
-It already has a high flow cat, so I'd like to find a set of LT's that have all the hookups. If that is possible.
-I'm also going to ditch the chokemaster for something more free flowing.
So, tell me what you'd change if anything and why. Thank you kindly. | | |
