I want change my body car becouse rust ate my floor and wheel house.
Can somebody know how to remove engine form Firebird Formula 91 engine V8 TBI? Can I remove engine up or down car?
I am going to assume you are not in America, buy the way you are typing.
If I understand you correctly, your car is very rusty and you want to take the engine out and put it into something else?
The easiest way for you to take engine out is going to be to take it out the top.
If the car is getting junked take the hood off. I do this for more room. If you are putting an engine in, some people like to leave it so they don't have to worry about getting it bolted on in the same spot so everything is straight. However if you are putting the hood back on, before you take if off, mark around the hindge with something. If you have to adjust anything it will be very minor.
As far as removing the engine, I am going to start with the trans.
I am going to assume Automatic as more of these were made.
Disconnect the battery,
take the starter down,
take the flywheel cover off, (black metal or plastic cover on the bottom of the tranny between engine and tranny) You may have to take down the y pipe to do this.
take the torque converter bolts out,
take the bellhousing bolts out
For the engine,
This is going to be a lot of you looking it over before and when you pull it to make sure you didn't miss anything.
the fuel lines need taken off,
all the electrical needs unpluged. (alt, oil sensor, coolant sensor, ect..)
If you haven't disconnected the exhaust from the exhaust manifold do so.
hook up something to lift it, take out the engine mount bolts, and lift it. Do it slowly though. If you miss something and you need if for your swap, it dosen't do you much good if it's ripped in half.
