Ill give all the info I have. lol. I replace all of my sparkplugs because my car wasnt firing/starting and when it did, which was rarely, It would run rich, then choke out. It was flooding the TBI, and the car would reak of gas. Now with the plugs replaced, it starts up almost immediately, and runs like a champ. After a little while though, it floods and stalls out again. I havent tried really anything and Ive looked around on here. Im gonna try pulling the fuses for the pump when I get home, something about fuel pressure. Funds are low for me, so I need some ideas.

Fuel pressure could be very high.
O-rings around injectors could be broken.
Temp sender (wiring, unit, connector, etc) could be damaged. If it goes open, it reads -40F and goes crazy rich thinking you're trying to start it in the arctic.


edit: the list goes on... this is just a starting point.

First two things Im gonna try are the O2 sensor and the MAF sensor. Ill post results of trying these once I get the chance.

also check your timing. a retarded timing will make it sound like its got a cam in it but will run pig rich if to far and spit fuel out the exhaust tips. try loosening the distributer hold down and turn it counter clock wise a little and see if that helps, let us know

Ummm... MAF? You posted this in TBI. Which do you have?

Also - your O2 might be good or bad - but it still won't flood it out. It's only for minor corrections after it's warmed up.

And don't loosen your distro unless you have a timing light and KNOW how to set it where it's supposed to be! Guessing is no good.
You could just give it a wiggle as it stands to see if it's loose though (in which case - set it properly!)
