oval TB

anyone know if it is possible to cut away the divider between the two throttle blades, and put one big oval blade in it's place? similar to the third "barrel" on the old holley 3 bbl carbs. I've attached a pic of what I'm talking about (left is before porting right is after). The main prob I can see would be finding a throttle blade to fit, or running into some cavity inside the throttle body.

Any Ideas?

-Eric

Re: oval TB

well, I just went out to the garage and took apart my spare TB and found my answer, and the answer is...

nope, can't be done... well, it could, but worth it, no.

Re: oval TB

many of us just opted for a 7.4L GM TB unit. Aftermarket provides a bored one just a bit smaller at 50mm.

that still seems like the better idea, when I find one, I'm going to pick it up. can the bores on the 7.4 TB be bored any further than stock?
