just having a thought, thanks

hi, i am new here, but i just got a 1988 firebird 5.0 tbi, 5 speed, one wheel peel. i also got my hands on a 91 gta with a mushed and rusty body, however i took the 345 borg warner posi disc rear, the aluminum driveshaft and the complete interior, and i put the complete gta body kit on so the car looks sweet. the 5.0 didn't run when i got it but after looking through the threads here, i found the tube between the pump and fuel line ripped giving me 2 lbs. of pressure at the tbi unit.it runs ok , but still throws code 42, i am very familiar with electrical so i got all the info i needed from here and using the gm service manual for this car, and traced and tested every circuit. goes to closed loop, iac works, timing set to 0 degrees with est unplugged, good injectors, map sensor, module, coil, and dizzy, everything says that i need a new ecm,no big deal however, i have a 1982 chevy 350 290 hp truck motor, with good heads with 202 180 valves also 82 heads. i'm temted to replace the 160,000 mile 305 that needs a rear main seal, for the 15,000 mile 350 and try the tbi system on it, seems everything will physically bolt on, upstate ny is a visual emissions inspection only, so i don't have to worry about a ses light, but i will probly keep the stock a.i.r. , egr and lo3 intake, i don't expect a race demon, but this combo should make good torque , as long as the tbi is capable of flowing enough, worst case i need 61 pph injectors and a 350 computer which i need to replace anyway. what do you think. any problems that i'm not seeing. i know there is a lot of knowledge reading these posts. i sure could use some advice. thanks
