i know this question has been answered but i need to swap my tpi to tbi and i cant find a thread on how to do it. my tpi setup is far from finished and i might be getting a free tbi setup from a 91 4.3l bravada.
my questions are:
wouldnt i just have to change the intake TB and computer?
would the fuel pressure have to be changed?
will all the interior gauges work with this swap?
would i need to modify anything or would it be a direct swap?
thanks so much

I have never head of anyone doing this swap, I have heard about just about everything else though, carb to tbi, carb to tpi, tbi to carb, tbi to tpi, tpi to carb and after market efi systems galore. You will be hard pressed to find any information on this subject because of that.
I would think you would just need to re-pin the ecu for the injectors, and for that you will need an electrical manual. Your gauges and everything else shouldn't be effected. Obviously a 4.3 intake will not fit your SBC. The fuel pressure regulators are part of the induction system so by putting a TBI unit on your car you will have reduced the pressure .
Just so you know you will need to reprogram the PROM chip because the 4.3 computer, aside from being set up for a small suv, is 25% less displacement than your 5.7.
I love by TBI but I strongly advise against putting at TBI on top of your L98.
TBI gets a bad rap because of the boat anchors that they came on from the factory. TBI is actually a good performance setup, just the rest of the L03 motor is awful. This is why most people around here think tbi is just worthless.

Plenty true, but I still think going from a multiport injector setup to a common injector setup is going backwards. A new manifold in place of the TPI and I'm sure a multiport would be better everytime.
