where does this vacuum line go? pic inside

as the title says, where does this vacuum line go? just noticed it cause i had the air filter housing off doing an oil pan gasket change. (which turned into a nightmare by the way, everything that could go wrong did). on mine, the line is about 6 inches long and doesn't seem to have a place to go, unless if i just cant see it... lol... oh... car is an 89 camaro rs 305 tbi. thanks in advance, a vacuum leak might be the cause of my fuel problem. red arrow pointing at line in question.

edit: the pic shown is not my tbi, got the pic off the web and put the arrow in

Is there an Emissions sticker on the front of your hood? If yes, it should have a vacuum hose connection diagram on it.

That line usually provides full time vacuum to AC controls. Look for a vacuum tank that might be leaking.

Re: where does this vacuum line go? pic inside

thanks for the help, will look to see if i have a sticker showing under the hood. will check the bottom of the air cleaner assembly here in a few hours. the line doesn't look long enough to get anywhere near the ac stuff, but i will see if i have a hose laying that might have gotten cut

I got an aftermarket open air cleaner assembly. Where do I put that line since there is no longer a place for it?

Re: where does this vacuum line go? pic inside

If you need any help with the aftermarket air cleaner, I just did mine last month. If you got the edelbrock 14 inch then you might have a problem. On mine the bolt was too short to get the wing nut on so I had to shorten the spacer a little and it fit. Putting that on is a great investment because mine runs smoother, cleaner and also noticed a little more low end torque. Not much but noticable. Good luck bro.

Re: where does this vacuum line go? pic inside

I actually got one off ebay. Paid $72 is is exaclty like the K&N Xstream. Same flow as well. Even had a spot for the sensor. While on the subject I removed the AIR tubes and the bypass valve. Any idea what other vacuum problems I may run into? I kept the charcoal canister but the car is shifting hard and rough. especially when cold. There is a sensor on the passenger side of the air cleaner that has line that plugs into it. Where does that go? Also that little piece that had 3 lines into it broke so I bought a 3-way valve. Does one of those plug into the little piece that is right behind the air cleaner?
