Re: need help fast. double hump heads

Yes they would bolt right up to the block, but you would need a different intake manifold as the bolt pattern changed in 86. As with any modification to the LO3 you will want to burn a new chip to make the best out it. This is especially true with heads and cam. It is a 100% must or else the car will be a sputtering, gas eating, undrivable mess.

Re: need help fast. double hump heads

Double-hump "fuelie" heads will not have accessory bolt holes. A set of Vortecs would be much better.

Re: need help fast. double hump heads

I can't recal off hand (memory failure) but a quick side by should should tell you. Can I ask why you want to use these heads? You might get better value by selling them and using that money towards a set of reworked and ported TBI and or TPI heads which will yield similar performance. DH heads are highly sout after and can fetch a pretty penny. They are decent performers but nothing special. Especially since you would have to change intakes, and possible front accessories.

I would buy them and re-sell them. You will find someone willing to pay top $ for them. Any value you get from the heads at a low cost will be swallowed up by the additional dollars needed to run these heads correctly. You will lose money in the end.

Yeah, that would be uncool.

What CC are the chambers on Fuelie heads? Wouldn't they be too large for a 305 anyway?

If you don't mind tuning, you could pick up a edelbrock performer intake manifold and bolt up your TBI with some kind of an adapter plate.

EDIT: just read Fuelie's are 68 cc, that's on the large side for a 305. I'd kindly decline the offer.

Re: need help fast. double hump heads

Fuelie heads are 64cc. They came in big valve (2.02/1.6) and small valve (1.94/1.5) varieties. I understand (but could be wrong) that big valve heads will not fit a 305 because the cylinder bore is too small.
