Question About Swirl Port Heads

In all the searches I've done I can't seem to find an answer to my questions.
1) Of the swirl port heads are there certain ones that are better than others?
2)Can you use a TBI manifold on TPI heads?
Any and all info would be appreciated.

Re: Question About Swirl Port Heads

1) no not really.

2) yes, it should bolt right on as long as both sets of heads are the same bolt pattern (pre 1987, or 1987-1995 iirc,)

Re: Question About Swirl Port Heads

I have a L05 in my wagon and I'm just lookin' to wake it up a little it's a DD.I have a LT1 cam and a 670holley TB for it,I have to do some more trouble shooting but it does have a valve train noise on the right bank.If I have to get them freshened up should I just polish up the ports or try and find a set of TPI heads? Did they make a 350 TPI ?or are they all 305's.And are they pretty common? Thanx

Re: Question About Swirl Port Heads

all corvette tpi's were 350cid. camaro didn't use a 350 until around 1990 or 91. i have a 305 tune port system for sale cheap. you'll need 21lb injectors for a stock 350 or you can use 24lb LT1 injectors for a mildy modified engine as long as the cam makes at least 13in vacuum at idle
