I got an '88 S/C with a 305 in her. When I drive for a while, say 40 to 50 miles my car runs just fine. But after I shut her off for a while then get back in, she runs fine till I put the car in reverse. Once I do this my cars starts hesitating and trying to die. It will do this when idling as well, for about ten minutes or so. Once I am able to drive it for a little while the problem goes away. WTF?

O.k. my car still does this, but now it will also do it as soon as I shift from reverse to drive. Once I get my R.P.M.'s up a little bit my engine runs fine. My car does this everytime I drive it, I could really use some help.
i would check your wire harness & connectors for bad wires (mouse chew insulation off) and loose connectors especially around dist. try with engine running at night wiggle wire harness around or have hood open and somebody put in reverse. when you go in reverse the engine must be moving enough to expose a wire somewhere hope you figure it out
