It's getting a bit annoying. My gas guage doesn't work, but sometimes when I slam on the brakes the car just turns off. If I hit them fast, it will sputter, but if I come to a complete stop the car shuts right off. I just replaced the fuel pump, but it seems to work fine. It normally is getting low on gas when it does that, but I run all my other cars to to nothing before I fill them up and when I come to a quick stop, they stay running. What is the deal with my 305?!
Car has 130k, new plugs, wires, oil, and has been well cared for by me... it runs great, I drove it everyday from Spring to Summer and put 8k on it... what do you all think? Anyone else have this problem?

Sounds like tank slosh. Is the baffling still in the tank? Proper sock on the fuel pump? Hose between pump and hanger correct and not split?
RBob.
Not sure, but I do know that the shop that did the pump does crap work. They cut a hole in the back of the car and did a hack job on the pump and charged me $250. I have to fix all the crap they did. I will check when I replace the sending unit. That was my guess, but I wasn't sure.
my car will do the same thing when I'm running on fumes lol
yeah i know its not good to run that low on gas because the danger of suckin up crap off the bottom of tank......but sometimes it cant be helped

Lol I can only imagine how annoying that could be with a T-5 lol. Car shuts off, you have to hit the brakes, clutch in, start the car, put it in 1st and then drive off lol. With the 700r4 it's okay because all you have to do is turn the key and it fires right up again, only my starter is going bad, so if I'm ever in a tight situation or in traffic, people want to kill me!!! Lol.
just dont let the car get below a half a tank and all you problems will go away lol either that or i like the first responce and its probably the baffels thats about the only thing that i can come up with oso you might look into a new tank that would really be my only gess dont try and weld baffels in there thought that might be a bad idea ha ha ha jk

Lol! Well at least try to wash the tank out before welding! I just found out I got the job I interviewed for today, I start tomorrow and make $580/week with commisions, a new tank is no problem lol!
