Car: 90 camaro rs
Engine: 5.0 tbi 305
Transmission: 700 r4
hard start
so I have a 1990 camaro rs 305 tbi and I've come to realize if I let the car sit for more than a 8 to 10 hours it's hard to start back up takes 15 to 20 seconds to finally turn over and start any idea what this could be

Check the fuel pressure, at key-on, engine-off the ECM will run the pump for 2-seconds. Then again after it receives reference pulses from the distributor. Bad relay or ECM and the oil pressure needs to build first to activate the fuel pump.

Does it really take 15 to 20 seconds for the starter motor to engage? Or does it crank for 15 to 20 seconds before the engine runs?

figured it out it was the hose from my sending unit to the fuel pump the rubber hose yea it basically fell apart in mhy hand it was sucking air and fuel weird but change out hose and ran great
