mr gasket 1480 & 1680?

ok .. I know everyone must be getting tired of hearing about open air filters,etc.. but I was told to get the mr gasket 1680 which is a non drop to fit the 350 tbi.. the guy delivers my parts today and it's a mr gasket 1480.. is this the same base just with a 14x2 air filter with it? I don't really care about the filter as I also bought the k&n 1650 filter which is 14x3..

thanks.. I'd try it but I haven't put my engine in yet.. too freakin cold here.. -15celcius + very windy today.. garage not heated!

Trucks have big air cleaners, you might be better off puting a K&N in your stock housing, get the Turbo city conical base for the stock housing, and fab up some cold/ram air.

www.turbocity.com

now that I see that that thing is $40, you could get a flat base for an open element for like $10 from summit www.summitracing.com and try to do the same (i.e. convert the stock housing to flat base).
