Woohoo!!! I found one......

I found an L69 cleaner on ebay (finally) and was just wondering what's too much to pay. It looks to be in really great shape. The starting bid is $99, but I could buy it now for $125???? What should I do? There is 4 days left on it......

Advice please

L69 Air Cleaner

The L69 air cleaner is the GM Dual Snorkel air cleaner.
Sure! Grab it if you can!
Does it include all the air hoses too?
If it includes all the accessories, go for it!
The kit is about $200+ something new with all the hookups.

Gunny,

Did you contact IROCZDAVE? He may be able to get one for you a little cheaper depending what kind of shape it is in. Also the right plastic duct and both hoses will run you about $64 at your local Chevy dealer. That is what it cost me.

I did check out his website, but in his parts section, he doesn't have one listed. Does he have more parts than what's listed??

Also, I read somewhere, that the L69 cleaner won't clear my air/smog crap on the passenger side of the engine??? Do you know anything about that?

It is true that you will have to move some of the stuff on the passenger side of the engine. I will be doing that very thing in about 2 weeks.

As far as IROCZDAVE, I would e-mail him and tell him you can get one on e-bay for $125. See if he can do any better.

I will let you know when I do it. It is a first for me. But you can just move them out of the way and bolt them somewhere else in the engine compartment. Just make sure you have the hoses hooked up the same way and it can be anywhere.

You need to unbolt the air diverter switch from the metal tube that comes from the air pump. I highly recommend that you unbolt it and don't worry about hooking it back up. When you need to go get an emissions check you might want to hook it back up so the cat gets some air...even then it isn't needed to pass and I'm more then enough proof (didn't have air OR egr working on MY motor and it passed).
When I had my Lo3 and I got the dual snorkel I just unbolted the air diverter and let it hang there. No problems but you might as well uninstall the whole air pump and system while your at it.

I'm going to outbid your hehe just kidding I'm not going to do all that. Hell I just bought a open element today. What I was going to tell you about ebay is that you should wait till the last 5 minutes till the bid closes. That is when you should start bidding the price that you want to pay. That way you know you are not paying to much. And D@mn $125.00 just for a air cleaner! I would save up for some real parts like a manifold or some headers, well unless you already have them. If you have that much money to do that then.... well ....... :hail: please give me some

So that little black box next to the valve cover on the passenger side is an air diverter? And I will not need it to pass emissions?
Will my check engine light come on?

I will give it a try. Makes my install quite a bit easier.

if you simply must have a dual snorkle aircleaner why not get one thats actually worth a damn like www.ramairbox.com

youd be further ahead to just get an open element and spend the other 100 dollars on a new intake manifold
