F'd Up ECM

OK, why, after I cut power to my ECM doesnt it clear the trouble codes out? I pull the fuse, and let it sit fer 30 sec. Doesnt clear codes. What I am not doing?? Also, I am getting a code 32 and 42. The 42 is an old code, and 32 (EGR Failure) is intermittent. Not a regular thing... Anyways, I just need to know why they arent clearing. Thank you!

Depending on ambient air temp, it can take an ecm 10 mins to forget all it's codes.

the capacitors in the ecm need time to discharge... Untill teh voltage bleeds off, the memory will still be set. try discharging everything by turning the ignition key like your going to start it (w/ the batt. disconected, of coarse)

Which ECM fuse are you pulling? The one in the fuse box is the 12v switched power source for the ECM. The one by the battery is the 12v constant source for the memory.
