New L69

I ordered a new L69 today, and was wondering, HAS ANYONE ORDERED AN L69 WITH A "performance" CAM ??? THE ENGINE SHOPS OFFER IT AND STILL WARRANTY THE MOTOR FOR 1 YEAR. THE SPECS ON THE CAM ARE: .420/.443 lift and 204/214 duration, they say that it is a hassle free install when it comes to the computer, has anyone ever bought a L69 with this cam in it, or used any cam with the same specs??? A Crane Cams Blazer has the exact same specs...

I just want to know if you guys noticed a power difference, at least one you can "feel", or what kind of extra ponies I can expect from this cam, I was thinking 10-20 horse.

1984 Z-28 H.O. 5 speed: 3.73's, edelbrock: intake/open element/valve covers/ headers , hollow cat, and 3 inch 2 chamber flowmaster system, Accel: coil/cap/rotor/wires, and an Msd 6A, Hurst shifter, GTA wheels -

Motor in it now has a really lopey cam and started making a "I'm about to blow up" noise a few days ago, #8 cylinder has had a bad ring for about 2 months now, have to change the plug every week, even with an anti- fouler

That is hardly any different at all from the stock L69 cam. I doubt it will even give you back the horsepower you lost when you put on that open element breather.

I have a Comp XM264HR-12 in my (sort of) L69, with 1.6 rockers. The computer is happy. The car puts 214 HP to the rear wheels in CA emissions trim.

I've got the Summit version of that camshaft in my low compression LG4 (8.6:1) and it is an excellent performer (edelbrock performer Hmmmmm).

No computer problems, good vacuum, good idle, good mileage, and best of all, it pulls strong to 5500 rpm.

Put the L69 air cleaner assembly back on with a truck tbi lid.

Just my .02
