If there is a 200 MPH camaro which i know there is many stirckly drag racing camaros that will go 200 mph... but if your talking about a daily driven street car that is a highly unlikely goal.... i mean sure it could be possible but it would all be due to your gear ratio which would end up killing your acceleration but once you got up to speed it would go like hell. 160 MPH zone is a more realistic goal that is some what achievable without out compromising acceleration, even 160mph would be pushing some high RPM"s though.

i'd say 500-600hp and 2.73 gears will do it.

Gale Banks built a twin turbo T/A a nd ran over 200 mph at Bonneville back around 1988 or thereabouts.
It had an adjustable (from the drivers seat) boost knob, and I think it was capable of 30 psi of boost.
Awesome piece of equipment.

"how about 156" he says

"damn thats pretty good" i said

"so i told him the specs and showed him under the hood......

138mph in a 2.8 V6? I don't think so.
I was doing 145mph in a Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 and the pull from 125mph to 145 was kinda slow and this car has 320hp.
Here is a shot of me at the line about to race my friend in his 95 Supra TT at the Battle of the Imports at VMP this past Saturday,

I am shooting for the 200mph mark with my T/A.

Well, have the car dynoed and post a vid. Let's see your engine as well.

My brothers car dyno's 287hp at the wheels in his 96 T/A and barely pushes 150mph.
My car g-teched at 199 at the wheels with the edlebrock carb and intake on my 305 and 130mph-157mph took a very long time.
This is the edelbrock setup on my 305,

This is the TPI setup on my 305,

And this is the vid of my car with the TPI and cam,

I managed to get 145mph with my 80cid car with only headers and an intake filter at the time

car stock only came with 146hp at the flywheel but nice thing is I have 4.10 gears

problem though once I shifted from 4th to 5th at about 120mph it started taking forever to get any faster

Ya, those rotary motors are monsters, especially if they are turbo'd and nitroused like the one that ate me up at the Battle of the Imports. It was an Electromotive Engine Controls sponsored drag car, was running low 10's, but I think it is faster than that, possibly mid 9's.

I was driving an Import just for the fun of it. And I wanted to drive a fast car. My T/A is still multi-colored, that is a photoshopped job by jaws4life.
LT1 is still being worked on, LT4 heads are in the shop, block is sitting in the garage.

I'll get it done eventually.

Acording to the mph calculator I hit 174 mph, and the car was still accelerating. Too bad the road wasnt a little longer. Dont know how accurate the calculator on this board is, or if I had the tire radius exactly right. I put it in as 13. 245-50-16's.

All I can say is OH HELL YEAH!!

This month's Chevy High Performane had a little blurb on that bad boy and my wife and I just about $hit our pants. (Yes guys she's a gearhead too. She's putting an 89' TPI 350 Formula motor and a T56 in her 74 260Z.)

200+ mph in Trans Am

and....

In Chevy High Performance November/2000 was a story about a Tom Hynes who ran 184 mph with ´89 Camaro powered by 345hp ZZ3 crate engine at Pony Express Open Road Race in Nevada.
