Max RPM for 305?

What is the max RPM for a well-maintained 1988 LO3 305?

I think the redline is going to be much higher than what your powerband is, so shifting at the redline would be a waste, assuming the motor is stock.

Just look at your tach, where is the redline.

The redline is around 5 I think. However, I am thinking about changing cams and I want to know the max safe rpm for the motor

No more than 5500 for a stock valve train. It will be hard to get that high anyway, though.

The redline is 5000k and I wouldn't push it past 5500 as mentioned above.
