Carb vs. FI

I'm planing a build up of a blown 427 sb, its going to be a daily driver/ weekend track. Want to have a roots type blower on it and want to get around 600 - 800 hp. Right now I'm trying to figure out weather it would be better to go carb or fuel injection? Also I'm looking more for low end hp and tq.

I have no idea really, but in theory the fuel injection should be easier to set up the correct fuel ratio. The carb is going to need setting up on a rolling road, and only be optimised for one situation.

The FI can vary itself to meet changing needs, and if you want tractibility at low revs, you almost have to go injection, on an engine with an inlet big enough for 600 to 800 HP.

If you go to programable fi you have more control. Carbs seem easier, only until they need setting up from scratch.

No, you can use a TBI system on a carbed type aplication some roots style blowers are even setup for MPI.

Now thats an interesting idea, because the TBI is so much like a carb, you could stick one or more on the inlet to a blower. The other injectors would have enough pressure to overcome a blower though, also I wonder if the FI unit with an air flow and air presure meter could set itself up to adapt to the blower being on or off, just a thought.

You might get a better response on the PROM board.
