Originally posted by brodyscamaro dude, that looks like a desktop dyno 2000 screen. for one many have found that to be inaccurate. it told me a 305 with a zz4 cam and vortec heads would make 380 HP. i am guessing that isnt going to happen. for two, DD2000 is NOT a chassis dyno, it estimates crank HP without any accesories. with stock exhaust manifolds im sure your not over 300 RWHP, do you still have the stock catalytic converter on it too? put the thing on a dyno as it is right now. something that will spit out a sheet for you. with those manifolds, i am gonna go out on a limb and say you dont have over 300 RWHP. let us know. i got no pics of my engine bay. there are a lot of the wires there that are not necessary and the damn AC is still in there i need to clean it up. then engine itself is painted gloss black. the front accessory brackets were bead blasted so they are clean and the intake was just bead blasted so its clean also
well i know, i think that that run was with my new exhaust on, hooker shorties and a borla race muffler, i entered those but i havent put them on yet, i just wanted to see, and this is at the crank, not wheel, i with it had this at the wheel though, but i have a built tranny (700R4), but again i am sorry if i come across as an idoet but i will post my dyno sheets, new ones, in january when my car club goes and gets dynoed.
what does it cost to get a pair of valve covers chrome plated/finished? id post a pic, but my engine isn't much to look at. '72 short block without any paint is all i have assembled so far
Here's mine. Since the pic I've added new plug wires and a different set of wire looms that keep them a lot neater. I'm hoping to get some ceramic headers next summer.
that is one beatiful engine bay, what all did you take out of there and how hard was it, i want to do that to my camaro. that again looke SWEET!! nice and clean like i like them.
I'm glad you like it. I wanted to keep things simple. A/C, and heat, I could live without. I don't drive the car when its cold, and if its hot enough to require A/C, then I will stay at home! I cut all the wires, vacuum tubes going to the heater plenum, just past the firewall, in the engine bay. I then took all of the plenum out, made plates to cover the holes, and presto, all done. I want to get the drivers side better also. It still looks to cluttered. It was pretty easy, but if you ever plan on using your defrost, heat, or any air movement at all, don't take it out.

82z28 if you are refering to my engine. those are breathers, i have 2 because my pcv valve it right in my intake manifold. usually on tpi cars and what not u have a pcv valve on one valve cover and an air tube goin to the airbox allowing air to follow in the valve cover. thats the best i can explain that

i have a pcv valve (a little hose going into the valve cover?) on the one valve cover and the oil cap on the other.. did u just replace those with breathers? how does this help the engine?
i didnt replace them my pcv valve is in my manifold. i have the ramjet 350 so i didnt need to put a pcv in the valve cover because it came with one. and i still have an oil cap. i just needed to put somethin in the holes that were there. so i put breathers. and it does what it says it lets the motor breath. i didnt notice any performance because i went from a v6 to a crate motor

You can make over 400 N/A horsepower with the stock manifolds on a small block 355.
And I'll bet the exact same combo could make well over 450hp with headers. Nobody spends the kind of money necessary to get 400hp and chokes the piss out of their motor with stock manifolds.
i cant get my *** damn HEADLIGHT BLACKOUTS TO FRIGGIN FIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the velcro in them is like the size of a ****ing penny. JESUS. and the *** damn tailight blackouts are ****ing BROKEN AND NOW I GOTTA WAIT 4 DAYS TO ORDER NEW ONES WHEN BEFORE IT TOOK 1 DAY TO GET HERE!! JESUS ****NIG CHRIST!! WHATS GOING TO HAPPEN NEXT!!!!!
377 (new block w/383 crank)
10.6:1 compression
AFR 195 heads
LPE 219 cam (originally bought an LT4 hot cam but decided against it)
LT4 roller rockers
Eagle rods and crank
Superram (just the plenum and runners...have quite a bit of porting to do on the base)
No way thing will breath through the stock exhaust so i still need a good set of headers and a cat back.
Right now this 5000 dollar piece of metal is still sitting on a stand, taking up space in my garage as i haven't had time to drop it in, not to mention i have a few other odds and ends that i need to take care of (new fuel pump, ecm, etc etc)
Since that pic, I switched over to a dual fan setup so all those little stickers are gone.

Zepher....is that teflon tape or paste on the nitrous lines??....i dont want to be a dick...but...if its tape u want it to be paste...the tape will descinagrate (spell?)..then clog your soleniods...
Yes, that is the same car. Been through a lot of changes these past 3 years that I've owned it.
And yes, that is teflon tape, which I didn't put on.
My friend was putting part of this setup on his Honda before I got it and he was using tape. I'll be using paste.
