Non 3rdgen; installed new Optispark and now car won't start

Sorry for the off-topic posting, but I figured that at least one person here could help me out.

My friend and I installed a new Optispark unit in his 1993 Pontiac Trans Am... what a job! Both of us double checked every connection during the installation process and checked once again after everything was put together. When he tried to start the car, it just kept cranking. I know that it's pumping fuel (I can smell it). To diagnose the problem, I unplugged the coil wire and cranked the starter again -- exactly the same situation as before. That tells me that there's no electricity flowing to the plugs. What could be a possible fix for this problem? Is the ignition/Optispark circuit fused in any way? Perhaps we blew a fuse... ideas?

pull out a plug and hold it with the wire attached (with insulated plyers!) and ground it to the block and have a buddy crank it while you check for spark.. if no spark get a multimeter and make sure the coils are getting power and all that b.s. hope this helps

How is the coil wire? Is it brand new? I had a problem right after I replaced my opti and turned out to be the coil wire. Also if I remember there are some plugs to plug in on the coil. Are they plugged up?

We replaced the wires about a month ago; they're all brand new, including the coil wire. All of the other connections are made, too (coil connections, and all Optispark connections).
