Okay, I know I want a Ram Air hood for my bird, but which one is better? I have heard people say they have gotten their ASCD hoods in crappy condition, but the price is good. Now I found a new company what sells a Ram Air II hood that looks better than anything ive ever seen, but its expensive. You can check it out <a href="http://www.usbody.com/">here</a>. If anyone has a pic of this hood on their car, please post it. I had no major problems with my ASCD hood. As a matter of fact my body man thought it was one of the best fiberglass hoods he's seen. Sure it needed some work but very rarely do they not.

Not sure on the US Body hood. I'm still not sold that the 98 and up style hood would match the lines of the thirdgen. I'd really have to see it on a car before I took that chance. At least ASCD put up pics of the hood on a car already.

Go with the Ram-air II from USBODY.

Usbody has good customer service, and their build quality is GREAT. I got their ram-air II hood, and my car is in the shop getting painted. Anyhow, I saw the car after is was all sanded/primered and that hood still made the car look BAD *** . That hood actully matchs the lines of a thirdgen better than it matches the 4th gens. I'll post pics this weekend when I get the car back.

I'm not too sure how it would match the flatter 82-90 nose but with my 92 its a PERFECT match in lines. The hood fit wonderfully too.

So either take my word for it and keep an eye for some pics on the NTB. But it looks amazing.

Well, as far as ASCD and their R/A hood goes.. they have a 6-8 week backorder for it. A little longer than I could afford to wait. So I bought the usbody R/A II hood.. I got the lift off one b/c of $$ and the weight issue (it weighs 16 pounds.) I may regret the lift off hood in the future.. but for now, it's a great solution for my wrecked GTA front end. now only if the paddock would give me the front bumper for the correct price....

I've only seen one ASCD hood, an SS style thirdgen one, and I have to say that I've seen the ocean less wavy. The overall construction was good, and the design was killer, but it looked like it would take at least $1000 to make it smooth if a shop did it.

my ASCD SS hood was **** when I got it , it was very happy to see me if you know what I mean ... after several sands and primes it turned out awsome , I have helped several buddies install HARWOOD cowl hoods and I was very impressed with their QT , however , they don't make anything different ..
the ASCD hoods are finished on the under side too ... over all the hood was well worth it in the end , just warn your body man .

I have a 2 1/2" cowl hood from ASCD. The quality of the hood was good but it did take a lot of work to get it trued up. Three files and sanding. One thing that also happened was the fit. On the underside of the hood, in the front where the TPI air filter is the hood rubbed on the housing. We cut the hood back about 1 1/2" for clearance. This was also a structural member of the hood. We supported the back of hood with wood for a form and then laid in more glass and refinished. It was a lot of additional work but the end product is beautifull. Check the link below.

i have a www.suncoastcreations.com ram-air hood. kinda pricey but they do get good write-ups in magazines. from what i can see in pictures i like this one better than the ASCD, i think its an inch or so higher. i wish that ram-air II was out before i had all the bodywork done, it sure does look mean like a big ole cowl but still sleak to match the TA lines.
